The Backup module by Green Meteor creates and restores backups of a HumHub installation from the administration area. It is restricted to system administrators.

• Signed backups: Verify backup authenticity before restoring installation files or configuration.

• Guided restoration: Review affected components, confirm restoration explicitly and receive detailed reports of failures.
• MySQL and MariaDB support: Create and restore database backups using MySQL or MariaDB command-line tools.

Backups contain personal data

A backup includes the complete database (user accounts, e-mail addresses and private content), uploaded files and your configuration, including database credentials. Treat backup files like the production system itself: store and transfer them securely and delete them when they are no longer needed.

For security reasons, backups can only be stored below @runtime or outside of the web root.
